Natural VisionTM offers the latest in diagnostic, medical and surgical techniques for the management and treatment of Glaucoma.

When the decision is made to have glaucoma surgery, it must be understood, the condition can only be slowed down.  There are several effective glaucoma techniques, including:

  1. Trabeculectomy – A small pass is made in the inside and outside of the eye. The fluid is then absorbed by the tissues surrounding the eye.
  2. Glaucoma Setons – These are metal or plastic tubes and have the names, “Express Shunt” and “Ahmed Baerveldt Valve.”

Bear in mind, as skilled and experienced as we are, the body has the ability to shut down some of these valves, requiring the patient to massage the eye or use eye drops again.

The decision about which device to use is a very important and personal one.  We will discuss the options thoroughly and properly with you, to ensure you are confident about your decision.
